RSPB CONWAY BIRDING FIELD TRIP




Organised my first birding trip to North Wales, left at 8.5am arrived 9.45am, had a nice cup of coffee and a bacon sandwich on brown bread. Spent 3hours around the site, with the following birds, common sandpipers,redshank,blacktailed godwit,shelduck,little egret, oystercatchers, curlew, canada geese, ringed plover,pied wagtails, sedge warbler,peewits and common stoats with black mark on its tail carrying its rabbit prey. the highlight was a Little Ringed Plover sitting and showing its four eggs on its nest.Moved over to Anglesey the weather was very misty till late, finally finished at Llanfairfechan with oystercathers, common gull, lesser black back gull and 10 Sandwich Terns. The sun came out at 3.45pm, called at mums on the way home.Great day out

West Midland Bird Club Field Trip to Cannock Chase

The weather forcast for this field trip was forecasted heavy rain, luckily we had a damp night only with a few showers late on.


We met at normal at the Springslade Car Park, started our walk over the chase at 9.15pm. Though only six turned up a wonderful night was had by all.


We met another field trip group from the Friends of Cannock Chase


Sightings of two Nightjars, their calls were very close to us with flight calls aswell. Other birds tree pipit, jay and tawny owl calling
